American Style Pancakes

These American style pancakes are definitely indulgent, but could easily be halved or shared (not that you'll want to after trying these!)
Great sweet or savoury, add your favourite toppings and enjoy!

For the Pancakes
 30 g Low Fat Spread
 150 g Plain Flour
 ½ tsp Salt
 1 tbsp Baking Powder
 1 tsp Sugar
 225 ml Semi-Skimmed Milk
 1 Medium Egg
For Cooking
 55 g Low Fat Spread

Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl.

Add in the milk and egg and whisk until smooth.

In a pan, add 3g of the low fat spread and melt on a low-medium heat, ensuring it does not get too hot.

Add a ladle full of the pancake batter to the melted butter and cook on 1 side for 2-3 minutes, or until a light yellow/brown colour.

Use a spatula to flip the pancake and cook the other side until golden brown.

Place the cooked pancake on a plate and spread 2g of the low fat spread on top.

Add another 3g of the spread to the pan and continue cooking the pancakes.

Once all pancakes are cooked, top with your favourite toppings and enjoy!
